Quilters.... get ready, there's a clearance coming.....

I did it!

I talked Brenda at Mama's Quilt Shop into having a clearance sale!  I am going to give you a sneak peek....then starting June 1st....let the fur fly!  Now these are not the newest fabrics, but they are beautiful and may be just what you are looking for at a great clearance price!  I know for a fact that she is working on some fat quarter bundles of these beautiful floral fabrics at a ridiculously low price.  These are going to be limited so you will want to check back weekly or even daily to see what she is coming up with.  She has so many new fabrics coming in....something has got to go!

Starting tomorrow,

June 1st,

jump over to Mama's Quilt Shop, and see what the deal is going to be!
She wouldn't tell me....she said I would have to wait just like everyone else!  (Of course that could be because....you see that fabric in the bottom picture on the right....I screamed I want all of it!)  She hinted at fat quarter packages as low as $2.00 per fat quarter, free shipping if you buy 2 or more bundles and a free gift with the purchase of 3 or more!
She was thinking so fast, I couldn't keep up!

Give us your thoughts

.....she is going to be having sales all month....florals, children's fabric, solids....
when you buy fabric, do you like fat quarters, half yards, full yards, kits....
tell us what you would like to see......
every Saturday I am going to pick one winner from that week's posts and send them a free gift....could be a book, a selection of FQ's, a yard of fabric or a tool!

What are you waiting on....

....leave me a post and next Saturday, June 8th, I will pick a winner of 5 FQ from this beautiful floral collection.

Want a second chance to win?  Tell others about the sale on your blog and come back and tell us about it.  I'll put your name in the hat again!

I am still relaxing!

But I did promise to let you know about our mini quilting retreat!

It is really hard to think about quilting when you step out on a balcony to this view.  But after the first hour of oohing...and aahing...we got in gear, unloaded the truck, set up shop and got ready to sew.

It's a good thing we were only staying 3 days!  We might have needed a U-Haul for a week!

We had brought tables with us because it was our first time here and we didn't know what work surfaces we would have, but we didn't need them....huge glass dining room table covered with a quilt held all 4 sewing machines with room to spare.  Ironing board, iron....already there.

We were ready to sew!

Well....three of us did...this one couldn't stay away from the water...

She even talked her mother into getting her feet wet....

but eventually we did get down to work....

well....okay....most of us did....

I made my 1600 quilt out of the variegated fabric and finished a small twister mug rug for my secret pal's gift.....

BP started and finished this precious child's quilt called 8 is Just Enough (you can find the pattern at Mama's Quilt Shop)
and Brenda.....started and almost finished this...Zanzibar....

It is beautiful and you can buy the kit in the shop.  Thank goodness the master bedroom was large enough for her and I to lay out quilt tops on the floor so we could see them as we put them together.

I laid out and got half way finished with this bright and cheerful quilt for a shop sample...
this is one of the Take 5 patterns from the great book by Kathy Brown of the Teacher's Pet.

This weekend I will put the 6 inch border on it and it will be ready to go.  This kit can also be bought at the shop and on the website.

We were leaving at noon on Tuesday to  head back to the real world and I always get up earlier than everyone else....so I took my coffee and walked the beach to snap a few last pictures.  Anyone that knows me....knows I love any body of water attached to a beach....and I have tons of pictures to prove it.....

And this little guy was there to say goodbye......I think!

This is so exciting and Brenda is going to up the ante...

We are so excited by the number of followers we are getting and all the wonderful comments.  You are so fabulous, all of you and I am desperately trying to visit all of you and become your follower.

Now the winner was supposed to be pulled today and announced tomorrow but when
I stopped at Mama's Quilt Shop yesterday Brenda was checking the blog to see how many more visitors have stopped by and she made the comment she wished we could "hit" the 200 mark.  Followers that is!  My suggestion was "let's make it a little more exciting".

So we are going to give it 1 more day for you to get in on the winning....
....since you are being so generous to us...we are want to be generous to you....if we hit 200 followers we are going to add a second giveaway that is only for our followers....so tell your friends, your family, even strangers on the side of the road......

Brenda is giving away a "Lil Twister" ruler and 3 bright and fun fat quarters.  Now everyone knows that I love my "Lil Twister" and that I am constantly using it.  You can take two of these for the center and the other one for the border and you can make the cutest mug rug just like this one......

or this one.....

So we have just a little over 24 hours left before we draw our winner for the blog hop.  Let's get that number of followers up to 200 so that we can pull a second name out of the hat Saturday morning while we are having our coffee.  Good luck everyone and thanks again for totally overwhelming us!

We love you!

What fun we had....

It was so much fun watching the demo's going on at the store....here's Brenda showing Deb Tucker's  Square 2 ruler....this is so much fun and makes these little squares so easy.

And of course Brenda 2 (BP we call her) showed off the LeMoyne Star ruler....now this really makes life easy....this is not an easy block to do because you must, must, must get the points and valleys right....

I was busy cutting fabric so I didn't get to see the demo....but Brenda showed it to me late in the evening....and it was easy.

And of course, as usual, I was doing the twister demo and no one took a picture of me and all the ladies listening.  But we sold several twisters, both big and small.  I really believe that once everyone sees how easy these two rulers are they would jump on them.  Makes it look like you slaved for hours when in reality you can make a big or little twister in a day.

And of course, we sold fabric.  Lots of it!  We love helping customers pick out fabrics to make a quilt.

All during the day Brenda and I kept checking on the blog hop that we are participating in from over at Michele's Quilting Gallery.....you are awesome....we are up to 91 followers and over 150 comments.  So many of you have visited Mama's Quilt Shop on line and signed up for the e-mails.  We know that many people are struggling, the price of fabric is soaring and gas is out of sight.  Being able to trust an online quilt shop eases the burden a little.  So we thank you for your interest and we promise to do everything we can to make your visit and purchase a delight.

You created a whole lotta smiles today!  Thank You!

Keep hopping, you have until Friday to visit all the blogs and register for the prizes being given away.

March 17th is not only St. Patrick's Day, it's National Quilting Day.  Mama's Quilt Shop is going to be hopping and if you miss out you will be green with envy.

We are participating in the Quilter's Blog Hop Party that Michelle has put together over at the The Quilting Gallery.

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

Brenda has generously offered this beautiful package of 20 gold and cream fat quarters to be given away.  And who can ever have enough of these colors to blend into a quilt?

So you ask....how...how do I get in on this giveaway?
It is so easy!

Just follow our blog! Leave one comment telling us that you're a follower or just became one. That's it!!  Now if you want a 2nd chance to win....jump on over to Mamas Quilt Shop and check out her website, sign up for her e-mail (you get a free quilt pattern) and come back and let me know you have been.

This giveaway is open until Friday, March 23rd.  We'll announce the winner on Saturday, March 24th!  That is after we all have breakfast, drink coffee and generally wake up.

Good Luck!

If you live close by, come on over!  Brenda will be doing demos all day Saturday, there are sales going on and we will have coffee, cold drinks and snacks.

Just look at this wall of sale fabrics.....we have been busy moving fabrics to the sale room to make room for all the beautiful new fabric that is arriving almost daily.

And she has 25% off kits....beautiful quilts!  See all those red dots....those are on sale!

These are some of them already made up....eye candy!
She has some other things up her sleeve, but she won't tell me what they are!
And the new fabric is to die for.....We have Fig Tree's new California Girl, Kathy Brown's new Abigail, Jason Yenter's Avalon, Michael Miller's Paw Prints, Moda's New Hello Luscious....just to name a few.....

Just need a charm pack, jelly roll or layer cake.....she has that too!

I want some of it all....I still have a few more surfaces I can put quilting fabric on!

We will be demo-ing the big and little Twister, the LeMoyne Star, Deb Tucker's Square 2 and V Block rulers....

She will be demonstrating the 1600 quilt..

I was so amazed by this one.....I bought fabric to make my own.

We have new patterns and books.

There are several of the regular patrons who will be on hand to answer your questions.
